RMNP - Bridal Veil Falls r3

RMNP - Bridal Veil Falls r3

This will be the third time I have hiked to Bridal Veil Falls, but it is a nice hike without too much elevation gain and some nice scenery.  All in all the hike was pleasant with most of the trail dry, with a few patches of snow/ice mix.

The trail was quite icy once I reached the horse rack about a quarter mile from the falls.

Icy trail.  Just above this point it was a skating rink
My pictures just can't do justice to the winter look of the falls.

There must have been a lot of wind this winter.  I found quite a bit of windfall along the last mile or so to the falls.

I continue to be fascinated by the large batholith just north of the trail.  Sometime I will have to read a bit about the geology of the northern part of RMNP.

The weather was nice, but it did start to snow as I headed home.  Another successful day on the trail.  Here are a few more pictures of some other parts of the trail

A waterfall & pool just down from the falls.
